Swampland Turned Subdivision
Hydroseeding in Doral is heavily tied to construction. In the late 1950s, Alfred and Doris Kaskel bought 2,400 acres of swampland west of the airport to build a golf course and hotel, and Doral Country Club opened in 1962. Residential growth followed in the 1980s, and the city's population rose from 45,704 in 2010 to 75,874 in 2020. That steady building means a lot of bare graded ground waiting for cover.
Builder and commercial work
Doral has many importers, exporters and businesses near Miami International Airport, and commercial sites are a big part of the work here. On these sites we install silt fence along the perimeter, protect inlets and hydroseed graded areas, retention banks and right-of-way strips once the site work is done. Commercial hydroseeding covers big areas quickly, which helps when final inspections are waiting.
Lakes and retention ponds
About 8% of the city's area is water, and new developments here are commonly built around lakes and retention ponds. Lake banks are the most erosion-prone ground in town. On those slopes we put down bonded fiber matrix or erosion control blankets with hydroseed over them, which holds the soil while grass roots in.
Protecting the water supply
From 1983 to 1985, Miami-Dade County stopped building in the area to protect its water wells. Doral sits close to the Everglades on the west, and sediment control here is about more than tidy job sites. Keeping silt and debris out of lakes and canals protects the water below.
Flat, wet ground
Former swampland is flat and drains slowly. For homes in newer neighborhoods, fine grading to move water toward the street and swales is the first step. Our grading crews handle excavation and trenching for drainage when a lot needs it.

Doral Questions
Do you hydroseed commercial sites and warehouse lots in Doral?
Yes. We seed graded areas, retention banks and right-of-way strips, and while building is underway we put up silt fence and protect the drain inlets.
What do you use on steep lake banks?
Depending on how steep it is, hydroseed over erosion control blankets or over bonded fiber matrix.
My new home's yard stays wet. Can you help?
Yes. We regrade to move water off the lot and can add a drain line if needed.
How quickly can you seed a large builder site?
Hydroseeding covers large areas fast. We schedule around your final grading and give a written estimate up front.
