Planned Community, Shared Green Space

Hydroseeding in Country Walk often involves more than one yard. The community is a 1,280-acre deed-restricted development in southwest Miami-Dade with 1,606 homes split among six sub-associations, and its Patio Homes section is laid out with large greenbelts around it. Shared turf areas, lake edges and individual lawns all need to look consistent, which is something hydroseeding does well because one mix and one mulch go down across the whole area.

Working with associations

Most exterior work in a deed-restricted community needs to follow association rules. We can supply a written scope that lists seed type, mulch and timing so a homeowner or board can get approval before work begins. For common areas, we quote the greenbelt or lake bank as one project.

Rebuilt after Andrew

Hurricane Andrew destroyed about 90% of the homes here in 1992. Arvida had built the community between 1978 and 1994, and the destroyed wood-frame houses were rebuilt with concrete walls. Many yards were regraded during that rebuilding and have now carried grass for three decades. Settled soil, compaction and thinning turf are typical; aeration, topsoil and reseeding usually fix them.

Farm fields to the west

Country Walk borders farmland to the west and Miami Executive Airport to the north. Lots on the western edge get wind-blown dust and weed seed from open fields, so we put extra effort into weed control during soil prep and use a dense seeding rate to crowd out invaders.

Lake edges

Lakeside homes and the community's water areas mean many sloped banks. A bank that loses grass starts to slump and drop sediment into the lake. Erosion control blankets and hydromulch stabilize the slope while the new grass takes hold.

Country Walk Questions

Can you give me a written scope for my association's approval?

Yes. We list the seed, mulch and schedule so you can submit it before work starts.

Do you quote common areas and greenbelts?

Yes. We quote them as a single project, including any lake banks that need erosion control.

Why do weeds keep coming into my yard on the west side?

Open fields nearby send weed seed on the wind. Good soil prep and a dense stand of grass are the best defense.

My yard has sunk since the house was rebuilt. Can you level it?

Yes. We add topsoil to low spots, grade and reseed.
